4 March 2025
14:30 - 15:30
Hallway next to the Library

Official opening
From February 17 to March 13, the photo exhibition We left behind not only walls and a roof but part of our souls will be on display in the hallway next to the library at The Hague University of Applied Sciences. In this exhibition, young newcomers and local youth from The Hague share their personal stories through words and images. With poems and portraits, they invite visitors into their lives, dreams, and uncertainties.
On Tuesday, March 4, at 2:30 PM, we will celebrate the official opening of the exhibition at the Speakers’ Corner.
Katja Rusinovic (Professor of Urban Social Development) and researcher Stefanie Schuddebeurs will provide a brief explanation of ongoing research on migration in The Hague. This includes an examination of the situation of Ukrainian displaced persons, many of whom work below their skill level and face uncertainty about their future.
Alex Muromtsev from Ukraine will share his personal experience and highlight the importance of this exhibition: it shows that refugees are more than just statistics – they have unique stories and valuable contributions to society.
As always, it's free for students and staff! No need to sign up.
Come listen, observe, and be inspired!
