On Friday 8 December, it's Spirit Day! On this day, we wear purple to celebrate that everyone's gender identity and sexual orientation are welcome at The Hague University of Applied Sciences. Universities (of applied sciences) are increasingly participating in celebrating Spirit Day because students and staff should be able to explore and express their gender identity, expression, and sexuality in a safe environment.
Students from the Sexuality and Diversity Minor, in collaboration with The Lighthouse and the Inclusion Office, are organizing Spirit Day this year. In addition to wearing purple clothing, there will also be activities at The Hague University of Applied Sciences focusing on gender and sexuality. The Hague University of Applied Sciences aims to demonstrate inclusivity for LGBTQIA+ students not only through wearing purple clothing but also by supporting the program outlined below.

Everyone participating in the Spirit Day is welcome in the Atrium at 11:00 am to enjoy a purple snack! Here, you can also get a fun theme sticker or button to show your solidarity. You are very welcome to join! Registration is not necessary, except for the Table Dialogues.
WHIP-BUS X THUAS
11:00 - 15:00 | Main entrance and Atrium
The WHIP-bus creates a physical meeting place that encourages real-life conversations in the realm of sexuality and intimacy. You can engage in relaxed and playful discussions with others and professionals about gender, sexuality, and intimacy. There is a quiz you can participate in with your friends, and there is a small museum covering various aspects of sexuality. The WHIP-bus is located outside on the square and will be hosting a physical meeting place inside the Atrium.
Table Dialogue
11:30 - 13:30 | Buenos Aires Room (OV0.35) & Paris Room (OV0.39)
Engage in conversation! During the table discussions with fellow students, you can have conversations with individuals from the LGBTIQ+ community in small groups. You can discuss topics such as coming out, establishing queer connections (coming in), or inclusivity within The Hague University of Applied Sciences. In small rounds, there will be an opportunity to talk with different people about their experiences and ask questions.

Join the drinks at the end of Spirit Day! To conclude the event on a cheerful note, participants can enjoy a drink and a purple snack afterwards with other students.
