What can you expect?
An inspiring program with captivating performances, hosted by spoken word artist Zaïre Krieger.
Join as a spoken word artist!
Do you have a poem, spoken word piece, story, or other creative expression that you would like to share? Sign up and let your talent shine during Yours Sincerely. Each participant will have a maximum of 5 minutes to take the stage.
The event’s language will be English, and all contributions must be in English.
Sign up: Send an email to Amanda Tielemans ([email protected]) before January 21, 2025, with:
- Your name and contact details.
- A short bio and a photo of yourself.
- The text of your performance, or a video or audio recording of a previous performance.
Based on the submissions, we will select 6 to 8 acts to perform during the event. You will be notified by January 24 whether you’ve been selected to perform. Additionally, there will be an open mic moment where the audience can spontaneously join as a surprise act.
Please note: We do not tolerate hate speech, anti-women, racist, anti-LGBTIQ+, or any other forms of exclusion and discrimination in the performances.

Be there as part of the audience
Sign up to attend as part of the audience and enjoy the performances. Students, staff, and external guests are welcome. Free admission, as always! But hurry, spaces are limited. Including a drink afterwards.

This event is organized by The Lighthouse in collaboration with students Aaron Bangudi & Amber M Arif.
Zaïre Krieger
Translator Zaïre Krieger (1995) is a poet, spoken word artist, activist, and journalist. In 2019, she received a Spoken Award as 'one of the most inspiring word artists of the moment.' Krieger's work conveys a call for justice and love. Her performances are layered, rhythmic, and heartfelt. In 2020, she was a co-organizer of the Black Lives Matter protest in Rotterdam.
