Paula Breuning 

Paula is a full time doubter who lifts the rug of life to see if any jokes have been swept under it, along with the uncomfortable truths. She writes spoken word in English and Dutch about womanhood, fatness, Dutchness, soft queerness and other aspects of her identity.

Loebna

Loebna is a fulltime student parttime librarian that lives in a bubble of stories, while her own is waiting to pop out. She writes about discrimination, mental health and other world issues that spark a passion in her to speak up and let her voice be heard. Her writing connects these topics to her everyday life and through this stage hopes to reach the ears of others.

Ema Donková

Ema is a writer first and a student second. While studying International Business at The Hague University of Applied Sciences, she writes for a personal blog on Medium and dabbles in occasional poetry. Their world is one of curiosity, wonder and a sprinkle of hyper-fixations. For this occasion, she's adopted her first spoken word piece.

Paula Urdaneta

Paula Urdaneta (Venezuela, 1993) graduated in Hispanic Literature and Audiovisual Journalism. She has a profound passion for promoting Venezuelan and Hispanic literature. She was nominated in the Best Queer Performance category for the II Queer and Feminist Poetry Awards. Currently resides in the Netherlands.

Ertuğrul Bera Dede

Ertuğrul Bera Dede, is a 21 year old student from Turkey, and is studying Industrial Design Engineering at THUAS. He has have been interested in writing as early as he was 6. When he scribbled ideas and thoughts down, and it only increased in time, growing into a hobby and then into a habit. Something he would do whenever he thought or felt. Now, despite feeling the process as entirely individual, he wants to share some of the many words he wrote down, to challenge himself and to share the kind of enjoyment he has in a way others can also experience it.

Gunou Mahmoud, a 23-year-old young woman studying the Social Work Associate Degree here at The Hague University of Applied Sciences. She will take the stage together with her servicedog, Solo. Solo is a PTSD servicedog, and together we take on this challenge. It’s a journey that challenges us but it also leads to self-development and beautiful things.

Olivia Wonder

Her name is Olivia, but you can call her Liv. Living with several middle names, she has had many nicknames, but Liv and Olive are the ones that have stuck the most. Because her names all mean variations of love, war, and peace, which fit the life that she lived on a daily basis. As a person with a queer identity and invisible illnesses, she oftentimes struggles in daily life. But she goes by Liv for a reason; she wants to live her life.

Dane Prins

Dane is a storyteller and researcher deeply dedicated to exploring social issues. Writing serves as her primary form of self-expression, with a focus on poems and short stories that reflect her personal experiences and observations of the world around her. After a brief hiatus from the spoken word scene, she is now revitalized and ready to share her insights and creativity with the audience once again.

Zaïre Krieger (host)

Translator Zaïre Krieger (1995) is a poet, spoken word artist, activist, and journalist. In 2019, she received a Spoken Award as 'one of the most inspiring word artists of the moment.' Krieger's work conveys a call for justice and love. Her performances are layered, rhythmic, and heartfelt. In 2020, she was a co-organizer of the Black Lives Matter protest in Rotterdam.
