And how significant is the influence of figures like Elon Musk? Join us on April 22 for a talk with journalist and U.S. expert Laila Frank. She will analyze the consequences of America’s new direction. Shana Atangana Bekono will moderate the interactive discussion.
Students and staff of THUAS are welcome to join this event. Entrance is free, as always.
Laila Frank
Laila Frank is a journalist and U.S. affairs expert. She transitioned to journalism after a successful career as a campaign strategist and political advisor. She divides her time between the U.S. and the Netherlands.
Before becoming a journalist, she spent 14 years working as a campaign specialist and political consultant—a background that deeply influences her work. In her reporting, she always seeks to uncover the underlying currents that shape political outcomes.
She has lived in Philadelphia and Los Angeles and spends several months each year traveling across the United States. In 2021, she drove 20,000 kilometers through America, visiting towns named Washington in search of stories about citizens taking matters into their own hands to improve their country. This journey resulted in the podcast Welkom in Washington, available on your favorite podcast app. In 2024, she launched a second season: The Presidential Edition.
