THUAS welcomes new Executive Board member Arend Hardorff

The Board of Trustees of The Hague University of Applied Sciences has appointed Arend Hardorff as member of the Executive Board.
The Board of Trustees of The Hague University of Applied Sciences has appointed Arend Hardorff as member of the Executive Board.
Marjet van Zuijlen, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of The Hague University of Applied Sciences: "We see Arend as the right person to complete the Executive Board and are very happy with his arrival. His passion for education and research, proven executive strength and pleasant personality were decisive in our choice." Elisabeth Minnemann, President of the Executive Board of THUAS, adds: "We are convinced that Arend can strengthen us in achieving our ambitions as a knowledge institution and in the field of educational innovation. He has the ability to connect with students and staff members and has extensive experience with the international context of THUAS and the region."
Currently, Arend is a member of the Executive Board and Dean of Hotelschool The Hague and previously he was director of the Academy of Leisure at Breda University of Applied Sciences (BUAS). Education and administration are a reoccurring thread throughout his career. After studying Leisure and Tourism Studies (Tilburg University), Arend worked for a number of years as lecturer and programme manager at BUAS. He was also active in municipal politics for many years. Arend is married and lives in Breda.

In particular, to link a modern and innovative approach to education and research with the social and economic challenges we face," says Arend. "I am looking forward to working with students, staff members and partners of The Hague University of Applied Sciences".
Arend will join the Executive Board as of 1 September 2022. He succeeds Rajash Rawal, who will step down as a member of the Executive Board in September and will retire in December after more than 25 years at The Hague University of Applied Sciences.
