Update following the press briefing held on 15th of March

During the press briefing held on 15 March, no changes were announced for higher education. However, there are several changes to THUAS policy that we would like to inform you of.

Expired advice on working from home  

The cabinet announced that the national advice to work from home is being dropped. For THUAS, therefore, the basic principle is that from Wednesday the 16th of March everyone is required to work on location at the university of applied sciences again. Being back at THUAS, will help in strengthening the connection to our university of applied sciences, the quality of the work, the mutual relations, the collaboration within the teams and the wellbeing of our students and staff members. You can work from home if circumstances require. Please always discuss this with your team members or your manager. 

It remains important, even in this new phase, to raise questions, concerns and issues with your team members or your manager. As a university of applied sciences, we shall continue to monitor closely whether additional agreements or measures are needed. 

Number of infections no longer centrally registered 

From now on, the number of infections within our university of applied sciences will no longer be centrally registered. We used to keep track of the number of infections at the request of the GGD to keep an eye on possible clusters, this is no longer necessary. However, we shall still ask all our students and colleagues to report to their degree programme or to their manager if they are infected and have been at our campuses during the contagious period (two days prior to the symptoms appearing or a positive self-test result). Classmates or colleagues can thus be informed that they have been in contact with someone who has been infected, so that they can keep a watchful eye on their own health and notice any symptoms early.  

General advice remains valid  

In addition to the changes announced above, the general advice remains valid. This is as follows:  

  • If you have symptoms, get tested and don't come to the university of applied sciences.
  • Take a self-test twice regularly.
  • Wash your hands regularly.
  • Cough and sneeze into your elbow.
  • Ventilate rooms as much as possible. Get a vaccine or booster shot if required.

Life at THUAS is becoming increasingly normal. Nevertheless, we urge you to continue to respect the measures in place at our university of applied sciences. Please find at the bottom of this update, a list of a useful websites for you.
