Mendeltje leads the research group 'Changing Role of Europe'. She investigates the European policies of organisations, the role of municipalities, regions, and national governments in the EU, and European lobbying. Her ambition is to connect the European professional field with higher education and the academic world through the research group.

Tibor is lecturer in European Studies and researcher at the research group Changing Role of Europe. His focus is on the EU for local authorities and coordinating national EU policy. He enjoys talking about it and is also keen to contribute to EU-related cases for assignments.

Marije Cornelissen

Marije is mainly concerned with understanding EU processes, and researching and advising on lobbying activities of civil society organisations. She also advises on the implementation of organisations and governments in the EU policy cycle. Marije enjoys advising colleagues from her practical experience. Upon request, she gives guest lectures on EU politics or EU lobbying.

dr. Rosa Groen

Rosa is a coordinating senior researcher with the research group Global Citizenship. Her focus is on research related to sustainable transitions, European work, citizenship education, and urban issues such as labour migration and youth participation.

She is affiliated with two Research groups: Changing Role of Europe and Global Citizenship.

Ludger designs and supervises research projects in which students go out and conduct surveys and interviews, for example, so that the data gathered by the students is of interest to an external client. He is also interested in comparative studies between various EU countries.

Maartje deals with projects on the impact of European law and policy on Dutch decentralised authorities. For this, she is in contact with stakeholders and conducts qualitative research. She also supports the #MBO-HBO Vote project, in which students carry out various activities around the European parliamentary elections.

As a lecturer for International Public Policy and Leadership Programme (IPPL), Shana's specialisation lights around EU governance, EU on the global stage and project management. As management assistant, Mariëlle is mainly concerned with scheduling meetings and appointments in the lecturer's diary. She manages information and correspondence and monitors the agenda and priorities. She also coordinates payment orders and arranges travel and accommodation where necessary.

As a former lobbyist and public affairs specialist in Brussels, Paul shares practical experience with professionals about public communication in the context of the European Union. He's also closely involved in the Jean Monnet chair of the research group, which deals with, among other things, digitalisation, AI, and cybersecurity.

Jules Borghouts

Jules teaches German (geography) at European Studies and is a researcher at the Changing Role of Europe lectorate. Within the lectureship, he focuses on the private side of EU issues, including with SMEs. You can approach him as a sparring partner for issues around Germany (in relation to EU), SMEs/EU and market expansion within the EU.
